Celebrating Maurizio Fondriest's 20th Anniversary of winning the 1988 road World Championship in Renaix, Belgium, as well as other victories, a special edition of the new '09 TF1 will be released. Its beautiful paint-scape shows a map of North America and Europe with a night-time graphic of Earth. Printed across is: 1st World Road Race 1988; World Cup Overall, '91, '93; Milan-San Remo '93; Freccia-Vallone '93; Zurich Championship '93. To further celebrate, Maurizio set up his own seven-stage ride last June, going from Cles (where he was born) to Rome. The event supported Italy's Little Brother program for youths in need. On the final day Maurizio met with the Pope in St. Peter's Square and presented the pontiff with a special edition carbon PF1.
